Background Information: Alan Powers was born in Bridgeport, Texas in 1972. He was educated in Bridgeport and graduated from Bridgeport High School. He attended Tarleton State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1995. Alan earned his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Baylor Law School in 1998.
After receiving his law degree, Alan joined Simpson and Boyd in 1998 as an associate. He quickly gained statewide notoriety, obtaining a notable verdict in his very first jury trial. Alan became a named partner in 2003, prompting the firm to change its name to Simpson, Boyd & Powers. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and has worked on a trial that was named one of the top jury verdicts in the United States for 2004.
Alan obtained a substantial verdict for a man injured in a rollover trucking accident. Powers convinced the jury that the defendant’s employer violated federal and state trucking standards by permitting him to work more than 15 hours in a day, partly causing the accident. Further, Powers obtained punitive damages against the driver and his employer.
Alan lives in Bridgeport and is a trustee on the Bridgeport ISD School Board, and is a member of Grace Fellowship Church. He and his wife Jeannine have four children; Bryce, Rebekah, Aubrey, and Bethany.
