Background Information: Allen was born in 1974 and raised in Hobbs, New Mexico. Allen graduated from Hobbs High in 1993 and headed to Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication with a minor in Business Administration in 1996. Allen attended Law School at Texas Wesleyan University and graduated with a juris doctorate in 1999.
Allen worked as an intern at the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office while in Law School and upon graduation took a job as the Assistant District Attorney for Wise and Jack County Texas. He served in that capacity until 2006 when he joined Simpson, Boyd & Powers, P.L.L.C. Allen is board certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is licensed to practice not only in Texas, but also in the United States District Court of the Northern District of Texas and the Federal Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. Allen is an adjunct professor of law at Texas Wesleyan University where he teaches a class in Criminal Justice. He is a proud member of the Wise County Bar Association; the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association & the Tarrant Country Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
Allen and his wife Mendee live in Runaway Bay with their three children. He currently serves on the Runaway Bay Economic Development Council. He is also active the Cross Timbers A&M Club. He and his family are members of Grace Fellowship Church.
