Michael A. Simpson
Mike Simpson has practiced law in Wise County since 1977. He was with the firm of Woodruff, Fostel, Wren and Simpson for 21 years until he formed Simpson, Boyd and Powers in 1998. Mike has attained verdicts that were noted in Texas Lawyer’s “Top Ten Verdicts of the Year” in 1995, 1996, 1998, and 2005. Simpson has also attained one of the largest jury verdicts ever in a trademark infringement case in Texas. Mike obtained one of the largest jury verdicts in an anti-trust case in the nation. One of his 2004 jury trials was selected as a top verdict in the U.S. and featured in VerdictSearch’s Top 100 Verdicts of 2004, published by ALM Properties, Inc. Mike has been voted a Texas Super Lawyer by his peers in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.  MORE

Derrick S. Boyd
Derrick has practiced law in Decatur since completing law school. He is board certified in civil trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Derrick heads the Decatur office of Simpson, Boyd and Powers. Derrick was co-counsel on one of the largest jury verdicts attained in a trademark infringement case in Texas history. 
Derrick represents cases involving Business Litigation, Antitrust, Wrongful Death, Product Liability, Personal Injury Insurance Disputes, and Railroad Collisions. Derrick is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. MORE

Alan Powers
After receiving his law degree from Baylor in 1998, Alan joined Simpson and Boyd as an associate. He quickly gained statewide notoriety, winning a notable verdict in his very first jury trial. Alan became a named partner in 2003, prompting the firm to change its name to Simpson, Boyd & Powers. Alan was co-counsel on a trial that was named one of the top jury verdicts in the United States for 2004. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.  MORE

Ross M. Simpson
Ross handles real estate, wills & trusts, probate, corporate, banking and oil & gas cases. Simpson gratuated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. (Honors) in 1980 (Cum Laude). Ross received his law degree from Southern Methodist University (J.D., 1983). Ross was Born on September 20, 1956 in Valley Mills, Texas. Simpson has three children; Sean, Sara and Jenna. MORE

Allen L. Williamson
A Former Assistant District Attorney for Wise and Jack County, Williamson is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is licensed to practice law in Texas, and the United States Federal Court for the Northern District of Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in New Orleans. Williamson is an adjunct professor of Law at Texas Wesleyan University and is published on the subject of criminal law in the 1999 edition of the Texas Wesleyan Law Review. He received a BA from Texas A&M University in 1996 and a JD from Texas Wesleyan School of Law in 1999.  As a prosecutor, Allen handled a variety of cases but his most notable was the successful prosecution of a cold case murder in Jack County. The case was discussed in the Sept/Oct Edition of the Texas Prosecutor. The defendant was convicted and is serving a life sentence. MORE
